MINDA - The Miniature Duress Alarm system

Designed by Chapman Associates and manufactured in the U.K. by K-Tech Limited.

A family of user-friendly radio alarm transmitters and receivers, designed for vulnerable people who may be at risk in business, social or other situations - VIP's, senior company executives and security personnel.

General Overview
* Very simple to use.
* Can be used covertly.
* Versions available for 418MHz or 433MHz.
* Licence exempt when used in U.K. (compliant with MPT 1340).
* Large number of family codes available.
* One receiver can respond to up to 4 separate, similarly coded, transmitters.
Transmitters Basic 'dumb' Transmitter (TX-400)
* Matchbox-sized unit (61mm x 37mm x 17mm, weight 35 grams).
* Built-in LED confidence light to confirm correct operation.
* Transmitter 'low-battery' condition is automatically signalled to the receiver.
* Two different status conditions can be signalled by each transmitter.
* Short, flexible antenna to maximise transmission range.

'Re-MINDA' Intelligent Transmitters (TX-500)
* A very secure Group Identity Code, if required.
* Full compatibility with other 'MINDA' equipment.
* Microprocessor controlled.
* Available in 4 different configurations:

  1. 2-button key-fob style for manual activation.
  2. Automatic micro-switch activated alarm transmitter.
  3. Automatic light-sensor activated alarm transmitter.
  4. A pair of modules, configurable to a size of either 31mm x 26mm x 5mm or 31mm x 14mm x 10mm, supplied as an unpackaged dual PCB for incorporation into a housing of the customer's choosing. The modules require external switch(es), battery and antenna in order to function.
* Alarm signal repeat at programmable intervals.
* Automatic transmission of confidence signals.
* Transmitter 'low-battery' alert is automatically signalled to the receiver.
* Very low quiescent power consumption.
Receivers MINDA Receivers
* A very secure Family Identity code (if operating exclusively with intelligent 'Re-MINDA' transmitters).
* Can use the same simple Family Codes as the 'dumb' (TX-400) transmitters, if required.
* Programmable alarm signal - can repeat at regular intervals.
* Jamming alert - with programmable time delay.
* Lost signal alert - with programmable time delay and repeat option.
* Battery state monitoring of any transmitter using the same Family Code.
* Easily distinguishable tone signals along with LED display of current status of each unit.
* Microprocessor controlled receiver, with battery economiser to extend operational life.
* Very low 'stand-by' power consumption when using optional battery economiser.

MINDA Portable Receiver (RX-400)
* Very small receiver (98mm x 61mm x 25mm, weight 145 grams) - perfect for carrying in a pocket or wearing on the belt.
* Silent (vibrating) alert for covert use.

Maxi-MINDA Desktop / Mobile Receiver (RX-500)
* Automatic battery back-up operation if external power source fails.
* Receiver is fully protected against inadvertent reversal of external D.C. supply.
* Optional loud alarm signal output (up to 1.5 watts) when using external power.
* Internal loudspeaker and jack socket for connection of an external alarm loudspeaker.
* Relay-switched contacts OR open-drain FET output for external switching.
* 9 volt 200mA regulated D.C. output is available to power other equipment (only when receiver is using external power).
* RS-232 serial programming interface to a PC - additional items required.
